Your teachers share a love of teaching, practising and learning. They are here to guide & invite you into the physical, meditative and subtle body practices, that they are deeply inspired by. We hope you come to know them too.
I have been inspired by many extra-ordinary teachers in my life. My deep love of yoga and meditation has been strengthened by extensive training in body, mind & meditation with Sarah Powers, Insight Yoga Institute. My mindfulness training also draws from the work of Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn, my studies with the Mindfulness Training Institute Australasia and Dr Rick Hanson & Joseph Goldstein.
For 30 years I have taught, coached & mentored individuals, groups & teams, inviting them to develop their strengths, while moving beyond barriers that limit their potential and their possibility to thrive.
Come and take a journey with me through the body, into the heart and into deep reservoirs of vitality, ease and peace.

I have come to understand the incredible support that mindfulness and calming breathing techniques offer us, as we meet tricky situations in our daily life. My broader career has been as a dental surgeon in hospitals and in private practices in NZ, London and Edinburgh.
Yoga, Meditation and Road cycling are an integral part of my life. My mother Jacqui introduced me to yoga when I was ten and meditation followed when I was a teenager. I have loved studying extensively with Sarah & Ty Powers, Insight Yoga Institute. My mindful meditation study has been inspired from time spent on retreat with neuro-psychologist – Dr Rick Hanson.
Yin Yoga is what I am drawn to teach in S p a c e. It’s a peaceful, mindful and revitalising practice. The breath is also an intrinsic part of nourishing the body and calming the mind. Yin invites us to return to our natural range of motion. We settle and inhabit shapes that are simple, still and deeply restorative. I look forward to enjoying S p a c e with you.

Movement has always been part of my life. Growing up on a farm we were always on the move, playing sport and then, in my teens, training full-time as a dancer. Dance led me into a passion for diving deep into the academic side of movement and I studied to become a physiotherapist. Exploring yoga throughout my twenties & thirties culminated in yoga teacher training in my forties. I completed my 200 hour RYT in 2013. Since then I’ve immersed myself in short courses in Yin Yoga, Somatic Stress Release, Yoga Anatomy, Yoga Chinese Medicine and Ayuverdic Medicine.
Each time I come to the mat, to teach or to practise, it’s different. I like the idea of yoga being an anchor. From this anchor we can explore our inner impulses and move, breathe and explore edges. Fully embodying wholeness is nourishment that brings joy to ourself and to others.

Physiotherapist – NZRP, ACC Registered, Post Grad MT.
The word yoga means so much to me. It is a coming home, regardless of where I find myself physically. It is a space I can remember my true nature as peaceful abidance.
I have been devoted to the life of a Yoga Teacher since 2013 where I began in Canada as a Traditional Hot Yoga Teacher. Every year I have valued greatly the approach of continued education. I imbue a balance of Mindfulness, Yoga Philosophy, Yang & Yin and Inquiry to invite an experience for practitioner to explore their own body’s mind’s and hearts. I am also trained to offer Shaking Medicine, based on TRE-Tension, Stress and Trauma Release (Dr. David Berceli PhD).

I was born in Mexico City and I come from a family of professional musicians.
After finishing classical guitar studies at the School of Fine Arts, I moved to Montreal, Canada to study Jazz music. Here I came in contact with the power of ancient Yogic practices and so began yoga accreditation at the Yoga Sivananda Vedanta Ashram.
Until I arrived in NZ in 2017, I taught and studied around the world: Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga at Jivamukti, Berlin; Nepal for Sound Healing with Tibetan Bowls, Gongs, Bells and Mantras; classical music of India on Sitar, Esraj and Bansuri and voice techniques in Calcutta and Varanasi.
During my classes, I explore sacred techniques to harmonize physical, mental and emotional energies with the sound of Tibetan bowls, Mantras, Mudras and other Yoga offerings: This is a journey in and a journey out to the frequency of peace.

I am a passionate yoga teacher and my teaching integrates asana, philosophy, meditation, pranayama breath control and music.
I was born in the sunny Canary Islands (Spain). In 2017, I moved to Australia and devoted a year to yoga teacher training at the Byron Yoga Centre in NSW.
I then began to teach yoga in Byron Bay and I travelled and taught in the Canary Islands & in Sri
Lanka before finally arriving in NZ and making Wellington my sangha.
When I’m not teaching or practicing yoga I’m employed in graphic design, delving into spiritual books or looking out for waves to surf and sunshine to drop into.
I’m looking forward to meeting you when I’m back from travelling and studying.

At home in my body and breath, yoga is a foundational practice that allows me to return to both. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the S P A C E Sangha and whānau, continually inspired by the amazing teachers and students here.
With a background in science and sustainability, I weave principles of both into my practice and teaching. Over the past ten years, my dedicated and evolving practice has led me to prioritise a meditative approach to yoga, creating space for students to experience breath and mind while cultivating softness within strength. I encourage a practice-led approach to Metta, where opening the heart is not just about movement and meditation but also about intentional practice and repetition.
I also find vitality and self-discovery in the mountains and trails. As such, Yoga for me is deeply restorative and revitalising, and I hope to share that experience with students.

I’m inspired by the deep connections between all things — breath and
movement, mind and body, self and the world. I consciously weave these
connections into my yoga flows.
My classes are designed to be grounding
yet expansive, inviting all students to move with curiosity and
presence. I focus on infusing natural movement patterns and syncing
movement with breath, creating a practice that feels intuitive and
fluid.
I also believe in embracing the humour of the universe, bringing
a lighthearted and playful energy to teaching. After all, ‘yoga’s not
about touching your toes, but what you learn on the way down.’ Yoga,
like life, is full of surprises, and I love creating space for both
mindfulness and playfulness on the mat.

Meditative movement has long been an anchor in my life. Following nearly 10 years of formal yoga practice I completed my yoga teacher training at Space Studio. I now teach, practice and live close to the earth in Roseneath.
Through simple and mindful movement and a reverence for poetry and language, my yoga teaching offers a spacious invitation into the present moment, allowing for awareness of passing sensations to transform and expand experience.

Movement for me, is life. It brings me joy, peace, love, a sense of
self, a coming home. For as long as I can remember I was always dancing
and expressing myself through my body when words couldn’t express it
all.
I have trained in dance throughout my whole life, beginning in ballet
and later contemporary, leading me to the New Zealand School of
Dance. It was here that I began my yoga practice. I then deepened
this practice with Space Studio’s 200hr Yoga Teacher Training.
Always and forever a student of life, I find immense joy in guiding a
yoga class through seva, selfless service, and allowing others the space
and time to simply be.
I am excited to continue growing and learning
more deeply through yoga and meditation, each moment a reminder to
begin again.
Aroha to you dear souls.

My yoga journey began in 2018, as a natural extension of my lifelong fascination with the human condition and the potential of the mind, body and spirit. I’ve always wanted to understand more about how we feel, think and move, why we do it that way, and what it could mean to do it differently. Cultivating this spirit of curiosity and investigation – or dhamma vicaya – is central to my practice, and something I love to share.
After completing my Yoga Teacher Training with Space Studio, it has become my privilege to teach at Space and share the wisdom of this special place. I offer simple classes, established in foundational meditation and breathing techniques. Through intentional combinations of flowing and sustained āsana, we create space to access your innate strength, flexibility and balance, and develop these in ways that honour your unique form.

For me, yoga is a joyful flow between movement and stillness. I love bringing a sense of curiosity to the mat including delving deep into how breath and asana are connected – qualities that we can then expand out and utilise in our daily life.
My yoga practice is a space to explore balance, resilience, and playful fluidity – the coming together of physical, mental and spiritual strands to make a cohesive and greater whole. With a background in medicine and health research, I find myself drawn to understanding the science behind the ancient wisdom of yoga, meditation and pranayama, knowledge which I like to incorporate into my teaching.
