It’s ideal to book ahead of time, especially on weekends. Please cancel if you’re not coming, at least 2 hours ahead of  class, so others have a chance to enjoy Space too. Cancel using the Mindbody Fitness app ( search for ‘Space Studio’).
Our classes are for just 20 students.

Everything we offer is optional – you always have the freedom to choose – more or less as you’d like, as you need. 

There is free parking in our carpark & mindfully along the streets here.

 

Tranquility: Meditative Yin, Restore, Meditation

‘An antidote to tension & stress – rest, release, rebalance, relaxation’

 

 

A still practice exploring meditation and infused with Yin & Restorative
shapes. Classic Shapes may be offered like a comfortable seat, reclined Butterfly, a
spinal twist, waterfall, heart opener, savasana. All the shapes are either seated or
reclined and could be Yin in flavour – encouraging flexibility and connective tissue
nourishment or Restorative – encouraging letting go and resting deeply into spacious
surrender.
Mindful Meditation is sprinkled thoughtfully throughout the practice, to bring calmness
and presence with kindness to our moments together.

 

Foundations: Yang & Pranayama

‘Highlighting the breath and Dynamic Yang’

This foundational class introduces you to dynamic Yang shapes, introduces 2-3 calming & energising pranayama breath practices and gives clarity around how to safely practice.
Enjoy classic flowing sequences and dynamic still shapes.
Find strength within stillness, in muscularly engaging postures, infused with mindful
presence.

Foundations : Yin & Yang

‘Wellbeing for your whole being’

Rest and revitalise the mind and body in an introduction to health-giving and nourishing
shapes – Yin & Yang – infused with mindfulness and supported by conscious breath
work.
We begin with a Grounding Meditation: a simple guided meditation to encourage the
mind to settle and be present.
Yang Asana: Continue on with mindfulness and enjoy simple yet dynamic shapes &
sequences to increase your energy & vitality, balance, strength & stability.
Enjoy a calming or energising breath practice
Yin: Settle into 3 or 4 meditative, still Yin shapes for 3+ minutes, to nourish
connective tissue & the joints’ mobility and your overall flexibility to counter a stressed,
tight or sore body.

Meditative Flow & Restore

‘Movement Meets Deep Rest’

Mindful Yang flows, that support mobility & balance are followed by the deep rest offered by
restorative shapes, which soften muscular efforting & quieten the nervous system.
Bring ease & peace to the body & mind.
Restorative Yoga shapes (based on the practices of Dr Judith Lassiter) enjoy lots of support with Space bolsters and blankets. (A thick wool grey blanket on top of your mat is lovely for support.)

Expect Restorative Shapes like: a propped butterfly, soft spinal twist, loose shoelace, gentle sideline, quiet heart opener, reclined crescent moon, legs up the wall / soft waterfall, ½ savasana, savasana. (Oliver’s great clue – if you couldn’t fall asleep in the shape, it’s probably not a Restorative shape ☺)
Open your awareness to the experience of being deeply at ease.

Traditional Yang Practices & Sound Bath

‘Energy & Recovery’

Prior yoga experience is more ideal to support your enjoyment of this traditional Yang class.
Your teacher will practice with you throughout this class. Expect students to have more prior knowledge of the more dynamic yoga asana, though of course your teacher will provide specificity along the way and always remember every instruction is an invitation for you to choose what’s most nourishing for you in the moment.
At the end of practice, enjoy yin shapes and relaxation into a sound bath to conclude.

‘Awake Sunrise’
& ‘Midday Refresh & Release’

‘Create calmness, energy, buoyancy’

Begin your day, or refresh at lunchtime, with a grounding Meditation: simply guided to encourage the mind to settle & be here.
Explore Yang Asana: dynamic, strengthening shapes and sequences; engaging body-mind
connection; a mix of classic and creative; focusing on strengthening & challenging your
muscles, increasing your balance.
Experience Pranayama: 1 or 2 focused breath practices, for energy and calmness.
Yield into Yin Asana: still shapes, that are seated or reclining, for 3+ minutes each. Yin
strengthens & supports your body’s mobility, connectivity and balance; these shapes
are like mini meditations to also calm a busy mind.

Deep Rest: Yin, Nidra, Sound Bath

‘Resting Deeply You Restore’

Enjoy 30-45 minutes of meditative Yin followed by 30 minutes of guided Yoga Nidra and immersive sound.
A structured descent into profound rest. Nidra is an ancient conscious meditative practice. You will be guided to rotate your attention throughout your body … meeting each place & space … resting while observing … welcoming sensations … welcoming your breath … bowing to passing emotions, thoughts, like all things that naturally arise and depart.
