I trained with, and I’m endorsed by world-renowned yogi Sarah Powers, Insight Yoga Institute. My teaching orientates students towards dynamic and still practices for the body and mind: students are left feeling centered, strengthened, flexible and alert. My mindfulness training also draws from the work of Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn and my studies with the Mindfulness Training Institute Australasia.
For 30 years I’ve taught, coached & mentored individuals, groups & teams, supporting them to focus on developing their strengths while moving beyond barriers.

My name is Jem, I’m an English country lass who fell in love with New Zealand whilst traveling as a teenager in 2004. Touched by the beauty and magic of the land and its people, I soon made it my home and I have lived here ever since.
Yoga and teaching yoga have lit a flame within me. It is my heart’s desire to share the teachings, experiences and gifts this practice has offered to me so far. Maybe something will land, shed light, resonate, guide or open a door for you too in your world, like it did for me.
Yoga does require a lot from us, yet what it gives back in return is magical.
I look forward to meeting, sharing and practicing with you in this truly beautiful and special space.

I started my own yoga practice more than a decade ago. Since then I have been so lucky to teach hatha, vinyasa and yin yoga to thousands of students. The possibility to share my own passion with others is simply a gift and I feel blessed to call this ‘my job’.
The intention of my classes is to create a safe space where students can explore what feels right and reconnect with their own inner guidance. I love my teaching to be light and fun, creative and with space for everyone to enjoy the journey.
I hold a degree in sports and health, I’m a qualified relaxation and life coach and a traveler at heart.

Back pain and an unexplainable curiosity brought me to yoga 15 years ago. The relief from chronic pain was incredible, but even more magic was the discovery of an inner space where I felt anchored, alive, and resilient.
Originally certified in Anusara Yoga, I have been teaching yoga classes, workshops, and teacher trainings in New Zealand since 2005. My current approach blends skillful, organic physical alignment into progressive, sustainable flow. Every class blends down-to-earth practicality with soulful intention. Deeply informed by applied psychology and Non-Violent Communication as well as long time studies in non dual Tantra (modern yoga philosophy), I believe yoga can help us cultivate a deep and intimate awareness, so that what grows over time is the possibility of really knowing ourselves and the ability to make choices that truly serve us and our relationships with others. My love for yoga ignited when I discovered it was a system that would hold me in all my flaws and beauty and allow me to explore my most authentic self.
I have studied and taught for the last 7 years a variety of styles starting with a Diploma in Yoga and Dip Yoga Therapy from Wellpark College of Natural Therapies.
I love creating space for others to explore their own innate alignment and wisdom, while providing flow and inspiration. Expect to feel held, honoured and inspired. My purpose is to serve the wholeness of life.

My love for yoga is firmly rooted in the lightness of being that arises following a full practice that is nourishing and well rounded.
This translates beautifully into my teaching: safe and accessible classes that create a space for reflection, self-acceptance and inquiry. All of my classes promote easeful breath and movement to allow the development of strength and ease in the body and the inner layers.
My hope is that through yoga students will experience continued growth and enhanced self-awareness.

I have been a student of yoga, advaita philosophy and meditation for over 20 years. I trained and worked as a lawyer for a period of time until I made a heart fueled choice to complete Yoga Alliance yoga teaching qualifications in 2011.
Since then I’ve spent my time adventuring, studying and teaching around the world. A recent adventure has been becoming a mum, which has cracked my heart and faculty of wonder wide open all over again.
I invite students to be present, to move intentionally & compassionately, to breathe, and to investigate how their practice on the mat can influence and enhance their life off the mat.

My yoga journey began in my teens, when I was training to be a dancer. I continued to dabble with yoga and other physical activities until I began a dedicated practice 8 years ago. This ritual of coming to the mat allowed me to create a base, a foundation and a place to come back to from the fast pace of life.
Yoga is also a daily part of my treatment and rehabilitative physiotherapy practice, working at the National Dance School, The NZ School of Dance.
I studied Physiotherapy and have a Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy. I enjoy the service of teaching yoga and in particular bringing a strong anatomical knowledge to my classes.
I have also completed yin trainings with Joe Barnett, Murielle Buriellier and Sebastian Pucelle.

It’s been 20 years since I first went to India specifically for Yoga. How things have changed since then. For me, Yin yoga is an introspective practice that can nurture the calm, quiet centre that’s innate in all of us. Through Yin we become adept at self-care – we become better listeners with the practice of tuning in – we become wiser as we get to know ourselves from the inside out.
I seek to teach an inspirational style of Yin to empower others the way it has helped me both physically and mentally. As a father of 6 and the Founder/CEO of a growing multinational, Yin is an essential part of recharging and giving back to my mind, body and spirit – a perfect balance to the pace and demands of modern life.
