This class sheds light on yin & restorative yoga & the breath, why you’d practice this & how to safely practice. The Yin + Restorative postures you’ll rest in are seated & lying down. Postures are infused with mindful awareness. Yin postures specifically encourage flexibility, nourish your joints, spine & the connective tissues of your whole body. Bolsters & blankets are used to support your body into a range of Restorative shapes. Without efforting the central nervous system & mind can gently & quietly settle, rest, flex & recover. Expect to feel nourished & deeply relaxed.

Find strength & stillness in muscularly engaging postures that are infused with mindful attention. Discover classic shapes, sun salutations, warrior sequences, slow flows, arm balances & standing balancing sequences & more.
In this, our classic Space Studio signature dish, you can expect : Yin postures – seated or lying down for 3-5 minutes duration, strengthening & supporting your connective tissues & your joints’ mobility. Yang postures – classic & creative sequences & shapes, focusing on strengthening & challenging your muscles & increasing your balance while attending to your breath. A simple 5 minute guided meditation: encouraging the mind to settle right here, right now.
Begin by being guided into meditation and choose to stay there or continue a journey into meditative slow flow shapes, that encourage awareness, resiliency, strength and balance. End the journey with meditative shapes close to the earth, that are deeply restful. In these shapes, the body-mind is gently and quietly encouraged to rest and restore with the support of bolsters and blankets.

Yin postures that are seated or reclining to strengthens & support your connective tissues & your joints’ mobility. These shapes are like mini meditations to also calm an agitated mind.
Yang postures that are dynamic, engage body-mind connection and are a mix of classic and new & have creative sequences. Focus on strengthening & challenging your muscles, increasing your balance, focus your mind on your breath.
Rest in a simple guided meditation: encourage the mind to be settled and be calm right now, so that you can take this more easily into your day ahead.
This class explores meditation within the classic shapes we call yin. You will inhabit a variety of traditional yin shapes like butterfly, a spinal twist, waterfall – for 4+ minutes. Be guided to mindfully allow each shape to encourage resting wakefully, while simultaneously nourishing the yin connective tissues. You are given an opportunity to stretch your body and bring space and quiet to your mind.
Rest the mind and body, simply stretch and restore. In this class we encourage the mind to quieten and settle. We focus on key muscle groups and fascial planes, that can get particularly stressed, tight and sore. We offer mindful awareness to be with what is and meet our edges as they are. We receive simple support for the body – bolsters & blocks – to help with resting and rejuvenating. Focused breath work compliments this class: The body-mind is quietly encouraged to calm down and rebalance.
